Stratford-upon-Avon's Christmas Lights display was switched off on 6th January 2021 at 23.00 marking the end of the 2020/2021 displays. The switch-on, and switch-off both happened during national lockdowns.
Christmas 2020 has been a Christmas nobody will ever forget. We were unable to hold a public switch-on, the famous Victorian Christmas Market was cancelled and we were forced to reduce the size of the display due to funding cuts.
However, the lights still shone bright and we have received so many comments about how joyfully and uplifting the lights were during such an unprecedented time. We are delighted they have brightened up resident’s lives, as after all, they are your lights.
We have been overwhelmed by the generosity shown by local business, who contributed a record amount towards the display and also we must thank everyone who has donated towards our "Love your Lights Campaign". As a result, we are planning for a bigger and better display for 2021/2022.
Stratford-upon-Avon Christmas Lights would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year and all the very best of wishes for 2021.
